Our Story

Established as a not for profit organization in 2001, Homeplace on Green River, located in beautiful rural South Central Kentucky is a shared project of Adair, Green, and Taylor counties.  The 227 acre historical farm is managed by a Board of Directors and Program Director.  Tremendous work has been done to restore the buildings and grounds by dedicated volunteers and the work continues today.  We serve as a permanent reminder for all ages of the role agriculture has played and is continuing to play in our lives. We offer immersive educational programs, lively community festivals, event rentals, hiking trails, crop land leasing, lab and conservation programs, and so much more.  Part community center, part living time capsule, and part laboratory for forward-thinking ideas, Homeplace on Green River is unrivaled in its uniqueness and potential.
